Adamus Organic Dry Gin is a super-premium, handcrafted gin from Portugal, produced by the Levira Distillery. The creation of Adamus Gin involves a meticulous selection process, beginning with testing 86 different botanicals sourced from various regions of Portugal. This extensive research shows that the distillery selects 18 botanicals best suited for the gin's composition. A unique botanical distinguishing Adamus Gin is the Baga grape variety, typical of the Bairrada region in Portugal, which imparts a delicate and fruity note to the spirit. Other organic botanicals used in its production include hibiscus, juniper, orange, lemon, cinnamon, ginger, cardamom, and sage; the remaining botanicals remain a secret of the distillery. The chosen natural botanicals are individually distilled using traditional copper stills through steam distillation. These individually selected distillates are blended in precise proportions to create the final Adamus Organic Dry Gin recipe. The gin has an alcohol content of 44.4% and is presented in a unique bottle featuring a cork stopper, emphasizing its natural origin and Portuguese identity.
Adamus strongly emphasizes sustainability. Their commitment is highlighted by using 100% natural cork for the bottle stopper, which also aids in upcycling cork, a notable Portuguese product. This attention to detail in their packaging reinforces their dedication to sustainable practices.
On the nose, Adamus Organic Dry Gin is fresh and exuberant, with striking notes of flowers, citrus fruits, and red berries, specifically highlighting sage, hibiscus, and ripe grapes.
