Villar d'Allen's 20-year-old Tawny Port is a rare gem, a chance to experience the history and dedication of a revived family legacy. This isn't your average Tawny. Born from a collaboration between the Allen family and Quevedo Wines, it's a meticulously crafted blend of aged Ports, each whispering stories of a bygone era. Imagine savoring the essence of patiently matured wines, likely aged for two decades in seasoned oak casks. The time spent maturing imbues the Port with a beautiful amber hue, hinting at the rich flavors to come.

On the nose, a captivating dance of aromas unfolds. Expect a warm embrace of dried fruits – think sun-kissed raisins, plump figs, and perhaps even a hint of apricot. These are intertwined with subtle spice notes, like a whisper of cinnamon or nutmeg, and a honeyed sweetness. The influence of time might reveal a hint of toasted nuts or even a gentle whiff of vanilla.

The first sip is a revelation. The velvety texture caresses the palate while the flavors unfold in layers. Those dried fruits you enjoyed on the nose come alive, mingling with hints of caramel and toffee, a testament to the years spent maturing. A peppery spice adds a delightful complexity, leading to a long, lingering finish. This 20-year-old Tawny Port from Villar d'Allen is more than just a drink; it's a journey through time, a testament to patience, and a celebration of a revived family tradition.

Quevedo

The feeling of optimism and the word of passion are carved into the Quevedo family, who have been grape growers and port producers for 5 generations. Despite trying times, Oscar Sr. found the brand Quevedo in 1993, which started a new era for the family, since they could bottle port under their own label. While this was great news for the family, as the upcoming generation, Claudia and Oscar Jr. had very different career paths in mind. Claudia fell in love with wine since her youth and she wanted to be a winemaker, even though her parents were skeptical about it. After completing her studies at Vila Real she joined Oscar Sr. in 1999 as a winemaker and ensured that the business had a future in the family.
