Meinedo, Lousada is home to Sem Igual, a winery that is more; it's a dream realized. Husband and wife João Camizão, a telecommunications engineer, and Leila, with a degree in Hotel Management, bring their unique backgrounds and passion to create exceptional wines. João, born in Porto, and Leila, originally from Angola, found common ground in their love for wine and a desire to return to João's family roots in Lousada, where winemaking has been a tradition since 1780.

Their journey began in 2012 with a "proof of concept" - Sem Igual, a dry white wine with a blue label. This innovative blend, featuring 30% Azal and 70% Arinto, quickly gained recognition, particularly for the Azal grape's distinct character. Inspired by this success, João and Leila expanded their portfolio, always staying true to their philosophy of minimal intervention wines with no added gas or residual sugar.

Sem Igual's commitment to quality extends beyond the bottle. In 2017, they converted their vineyards to herbicide-free practices and are on track for full organic or biodynamic certification by 2023. This dedication to the land is evident in their stunning location, boasting breathtaking views of forests, water, and a majestic eucalyptus tree.
