Beyra Vinhos de Altitude is the most recent project of the winemaker Rui Roboredo Madeira. In the small village of Vermiosa, located in the Figueira de Castelo Rodrigo municipality, grapes have been grown for centuries. Between schist and granite soils, thin veins of quartz push through the earth to better aerate the soil. Additionally, the quartz offers less retention of nutrients, low yields and better and more uniform maturation.
Beyra Biologico Branco is made with organically grown grapes from vineyards planted in the plateau area of Beira Interior wine region at an average altitude of 700 meters in granitic soils. Aged for 3 months on fine lees and stirred (‘batonnage’) in stainless steel vats.
