A bold expression of Portuguese ingredients, showcasing the micro-distillery’s commitment to crafting spirits with a unique sense of place. This particular gin stands out for its creative use of botanicals, specifically Portuguese tangerine and olives, which are distilled in their small-batch facility in the heart of Porto.

The spirit is clear and bright in the glass. It immediately presents a complex and intriguing aroma on the nose, with prominent notes of ripe tangerine peel and a distinct, savory undertone of olive. There is a subtle pine-like character from the juniper, which is balanced by a fresh, zesty citrus fragrance. On the palate, the experience is both refreshing and unexpected. The initial flavor is a bright, juicy burst of tangerine that quickly gives way to the smooth, slightly briny and herbaceous notes of the olive. The juniper is present throughout, providing a classic gin backbone, but it is the interplay of citrus and savory olive that defines this gin. The finish is clean and dry, with a lingering hint of olive and peppery spice, making it a compelling choice for a classic gin and tonic or a savory-leaning cocktail.

Little Faca

Little Faca is a distinctive and innovative micro-distillery project situated in the vibrant heart of Porto, Portugal. Co-owned by the couple Tom and Raquel, this small-batch producer operates from a compact 25-square-metre space. They meticulously craft a range of distilled drinks and liqueurs using a selection of fine Portuguese ingredients.

As one of the pioneers in the nascent field of Portuguese craft whisky, Little Faca has already embarked on its inaugural whisky project. They have laid down their first barrels, which are made from the heirloom Portuguese red corn known as 'Milho Rei'. The distillery, which began its production in March 2023, anticipates the release of this initial aged spirit in early 2027. The founders are also building more whisky stocks from other locally grown cereals, including rye and additional varieties of corn sourced from the North of Portugal.

Beyond their ambitious whisky venture, Little Faca has cultivated a creative and diverse spirits portfolio. Their gin, for instance, is a unique blend of Portuguese tangerine and olives, while their limoncello features zesty lemons harvested directly from their garden. Another notable creation is their imaginative Olive Liqueur. The distillery also welcomes visitors to their tasting room, where they can sample and purchase the products directly, offering a personal and immersive experience into the world of Little Faca.
