The Marinho Jurapil 2021 is a unique wine produced by Luis Gil in the Lisboa region of Portugal. The grapes for this wine are sourced from a 120-year-old vineyard that features multiple grape varieties interplanted together. The primary grape variety used is Tinta Roriz.

This wine underwent a distinctive vinification process. After a brief 24-hour maceration period with the stems, fermentation took place in wooden barrels. The wine then continued to age in these barrels for 20 months before bottling. The bottling process was carried out using only gravity, without any additional interventions.

Marinho

Marinho Vinhos is a relatively young winery founded by Luís Gil in 2015. Driven by a lifelong passion for wine, Gil sought to craft wines that truly reflected the unique terroir of Portugal's Atlantic coast. Located in the Óbidos region, Marinho Vinhos cultivates a small estate of old vines, meticulously selecting only the ripest grapes for harvest.

The winery's philosophy centers on minimal intervention winemaking. Grapes are gently handled, and fermentation occurs spontaneously with indigenous yeasts. This approach allows the true character of the fruit and soil to shine through in the final wine. Marinho Vinhos is committed to sustainable practices, respecting the environment, and preserving the delicate ecosystem of their vineyards.

The winery's portfolio showcases a range of expressive wines made from indigenous Portuguese grape varieties like Arinto, Vital, Fernão Pires, Alicante Branco, and Castelão. These wines are characterized by their freshness, minerality, and vibrant fruit flavors, showcasing the distinctive qualities of the Atlantic terroir.

Marinho Vinhos has quickly gained recognition for producing authentic and terroir-driven wines that capture the essence of Portugal's coastal winemaking.
