Quevedo's 50-Year-Old White Port is a testament to time and meticulous care. The aroma itself is a captivating journey, unfolding with layers of spice, dates, and nutty hints. These richer notes are balanced by a burst of zesty citrus and subtle whispers of brown sugar, creating a truly complex and enticing bouquet.

The first sip reveals a perfectly balanced palate, mirroring the complexity of the aroma. Flavors of nuts, caramel, and decadent creme brulee dance across your tongue, carried through to a long and refreshing finish with a final flourish of zest. This masterpiece is a blend of different white grape varieties, each meticulously chosen and aged for an average of five decades. The wine's unique character owes not only to the time spent maturing but also to the fermentation process. Granite vats, traditionally used in Port production, provide a distinctive foundation. Following fermentation, the wine embarks on its long journey in a combination of chestnut wood barrels. These vary in size, with some holding a substantial 550 liters, all contributing to the wine's depth and nuanced character. Each element, from the grape selection to the aging vessels, plays a part in crafting this truly remarkable 50-year-old White Port from Quevedo.

Quevedo

The feeling of optimism and the word of passion are carved into the Quevedo family, who have been grape growers and port producers for 5 generations. Despite trying times, Oscar Sr. found the brand Quevedo in 1993, which started a new era for the family, since they could bottle port under their own label. While this was great news for the family, as the upcoming generation, Claudia and Oscar Jr. had very different career paths in mind. Claudia fell in love with wine since her youth and she wanted to be a winemaker, even though her parents were skeptical about it. After completing her studies at Vila Real she joined Oscar Sr. in 1999 as a winemaker and ensured that the business had a future in the family.
