Quinta de Tourais - Miura Tinto Joy Division

Sale price€19,85

Tax included. Shipping calculated at checkout

This red blended wine, a tribute to the band Joy Division, showcases a mix of Douro Valley grapes: Touriga Franca, Sousão, Tinto Cão, Alicante Bouschet, and Jaen. After complete de-stemming, the grapes are fermented in traditional presses with foot treading for a touch of tradition. The wine then ages for twelve months in used French oak barrels, incorporating subtle oaky notes before bottling. This blend brings together vintages from 2018, 2019, and 2020, ensuring a complex and layered drinking experience.

Quinta de Tourais

Fernando Coelho is the face of Quinta de Tourais, a family-owned estate that has been in the family for four generations. The estate itself has a history dating back to the time of the Cistercian order, spanning all the way back to the 17th century. Fernando was previously a restaurant owner, but he decided to shift his focus and began making his first wines back in '99. However, his winemaking style has evolved over time. As his experience grew, so did his concerns, leading him to become a minimal-intervention producer.
