Revela - Encruzado - Branco

A single varietal white wine from the Dão region, a pure expression of the region's most celebrated white grape. It is crafted by winemaker Mariana Salvador and is dedicated to a minimal intervention philosophy. The grapes are sourced from vineyards with the Dão's signature granitic soils, which are fundamental in imparting a distinct minerality and vibrant acidity to the wine. Revela’s commitment to sustainable practices is evident in their farming, which avoids chemical products and promotes a healthy ecosystem, as well as their reliance on natural processes in the cellar.

The winemaking process for Revela's Encruzado Branco is designed to highlight its textural complexity. The grapes are hand-harvested and undergo spontaneous fermentation using native yeasts. Unlike other wines, this Encruzado is fermented and aged in used French oak barrels of various sizes, with no temperature control. This intentional choice and aging on its fine lees contribute to the wine's depth and creamy texture. The wine is bottled without fining or filtration, preserving its authentic character and ensuring it can develop gracefully over time.
