Textura - 2020 - Pretexto Palhete

Textura Wines, a family-run endeavor launched in 2018, embraces organic viticulture, terroir-driven wines, and wine tourism in the Dão region. They source grapes from existing vineyards across eight plots in Vila Nova de Tazem and Penalva do Castelo, totaling 28 hectares. Their philosophy centers on minimal intervention winemaking that allows each vineyard's unique character to shine through, resulting in elegant and distinct wines. Sustainability is paramount, with a focus on respecting the land's biodiversity, preserving natural and cultural resources, and fostering local development. Their certified organic vineyards, aged 18 to 50 years old, span two Dão sub-regions: Serra da Estrela and Castendo. These diverse plots boast variations in soil composition, altitude, sun exposure, and microclimates, further contributing to the complexity of their wines. Granite soils dominate the vineyards, which climb up to 620 meters in elevation. Textura's winemaker, Luís Seabra, crafts their wines with minimal intervention, allowing the Dão's traditional grape varieties and the distinct terroirs to fully express themselves in each bottle.
