Vinhos Barbeito's 10-Year-Old Malvasia Old Reserve is a distinguished Madeira wine that showcases the unique characteristics of the Malvasia grape variety. The grapes for this wine are sourced from various quality vineyards in the São Jorge area of Madeira Island. After harvesting, the grapes are pressed continuously, and fermentation is halted at the desired level of sweetness by adding vinic alcohol (96%).

This Madeira wine undergoes the traditional Canteiro aging process, maturing in French oak casks for over 10 years. The Canteiro method involves storing the casks in warehouses with stable temperatures year-round, allowing for natural aging and resulting in a well-balanced wine in terms of sugar and acidity.

This Malvasia is produced according to the Madeira D.O.P. (Denominação de Origem Protegida) regulations, ensuring its authenticity and quality. The wine's technical specifications reveal an alcohol content of 19.17% by volume, a Baume measurement of 4, and a total sugar content of 101 g/l. These characteristics contribute to its rich, sweet profile typical of Malvasia Madeiras.

Barbeito's commitment to quality is evident in their winemaking approach. The wine is bottled in its purest state after natural aging in casks without requiring decanting. This meticulous process results in a Madeira wine that exemplifies the best qualities of aged Malvasia. It offers a harmonious blend of sweetness, acidity, and complex flavors developed over its decade-long maturation.
