Vinhos Barbeito's 10-Year-Old Verdelho Old Reserve (Medium Dry) is a distinguished Madeira wine produced on the Portuguese island of Madeira. This wine is crafted exclusively from the Verdelho grape variety, one of the noble grape varieties used in Madeira production. The grapes for this wine are sourced from quality vineyards in São Vicente and Prazeres, showcasing the terroir of these specific regions on the island.

The winemaking process for this Verdelho begins with continuous grape pressing. Fermentation is then arrested at the desired level of sweetness by adding vinic alcohol (96%), a process typical in fortified wine production. Following this, the wine undergoes the traditional Canteiro aging method, maturing in French oak casks for over 10 years.

During aging, Barbeito carefully selects wines from their warehouses with stable year-round temperatures, resulting in a well-balanced blend of sugar and acidity. This meticulous selection and blending process contributes to the wine's complexity and character.

The final product is a medium-dry Madeira with 19.20% alcohol by volume and 71 g/l of total sugar, striking a balance between sweetness and acidity. The wine is bottled in its purest state without requiring decanting, ready for immediate enjoyment while also possessing the ability to keep well for several months after opening.
