A red wine that captures the innovative and eclectic spirit of its producer. The wine is meticulously crafted by blending grapes sourced from two distinct regions. Sixty percent of the blend is comprised of Tinta Roriz and Castelão, sourced from Lisboa, imparting vibrant, expressive red fruit characteristics and refined structure, while the remaining forty percent is made up of Tinto Cão and Bastardo from Trás-os-Montes, which contribute additional depth and complexity. The winemaking process embraces natural techniques; the grapes undergo wild fermentation with indigenous yeasts and are left unfiltered to preserve the wine’s inherent purity and character.

After fermentation, the wine is aged for an 11-month period, a duration that sees it maturing in both stainless steel vats and very old barrels. This careful maturation allows the fruit to integrate with subtle oak nuances without compromising its freshness or revealing overt oak flavors. In the glass, Superavit Tinto reveals an appealing deep ruby hue, hinting at its vibrant core. The aromatic profile is expressive, offering an inviting bouquet of ripe red berries accentuated by delicate spice and a whisper of earthiness reflective of its natural fermentation process. On the palate, the wine is diaphanous and medium-bodied, balancing dryness with a fruity exuberance that makes it immediately approachable, yet sufficiently layered to invite further exploration. This wine stands as a testament to APRT3 Wines' commitment to natural, thoughtfully crafted expressions that celebrate both regional diversity and the inherent character of Portuguese viticulture.

APRT3

Founded in Lisbon, Portugal, in 2018, APRT3 Wines (first known as Vinhos Aparte) is the brainchild of three individuals with diverse backgrounds: Diogo, a sommelier; Guilherme, a farmer; and Luís, a nurse. Dissatisfied with the homogeneity of the commercial wine market, they envisioned creating unique, natural wines using a scientific approach.

Their journey began in a borrowed garage equipped with a single barrel and rudimentary steel tanks. Here, they produced their first 3,000 bottles, laying the groundwork for their innovative concept – "winemaking on wheels."

APRT3 embraced the lack of a permanent vineyard as an opportunity. They traveled throughout Portugal, sourcing high-quality grapes from distinct regions known for their classic varieties. In 2019, they rented a small winery in Torres Vedras, allowing them to expand production to 5,000 bottles.

Despite their initial success, the founders maintained their day jobs, ensuring the winery's sustainable growth. This dedication to responsible practices extended to their winemaking philosophy, emphasizing natural methods and minimal intervention.

2021 marked a turning point for APRT3. Recognizing the need for greater control over the winemaking process, they acquired an abandoned winery in Setúbal. This location offered several advantages: proximity to Lisbon, a historical connection to their first sourced grapes, and the potential for creating an open-space facility conducive to small-scale, diverse production.

The initial phase focused on renovations, carefully preserving artifacts of historical value. Crowdfunding initiatives provided crucial financial support, allowing them to prepare the cellar for the 2022 harvest and establish a stronger brand identity.
