A unique white wine crafted from the Roupeiro grape and aged in traditional clay amphorae (talhas). While 2017 presented challenges, the winemaker's expertise produced a balanced and flavorful expression for this 2018 wine. The growing season began with a dry winter followed by a wet spring, replenishing the soil's moisture. Milder spring and summer temperatures slowed the vine cycle but allowed for healthy plant development. However, a scorching heatwave in early August negatively impacted some grape varietals. Fortunately, the Roupeiro grapes, better suited to such extremes, thrived under these conditions. The Roupeiro grapes were partially destemmed and crushed before fermenting in talhas lined with laurel pitch. Indigenous yeasts guided the fermentation process, and the wine remained in contact with the lees until early December. This extended contact adds complexity and character to the final wine. Visually, it boasts a dry straw color. The aroma is a captivating mix of white fruit compote, hints of dried vegetables, lemon zest, and grapefruit peel. These characteristics suggest a complex and interesting white wine with the potential for richness, balancing acidity, and a touch of minerality.

This commitment to biodiversity is not just a matter of environmental stewardship; it's an integral part of their winemaking philosophy.

The estate's vineyards stretch across gently undulating hills, basking in the warm Alentejo sun. Here, over 500 hectares are dedicated to cultivating a variety of grape varieties, each carefully selected to express the unique character of the terroir. From the noble Arinto and Alicante Bouschet to the indigenous Tinta Grossa and Trincadeira, these grapes thrive in the estate's clay-limestone soils, nurtured by sustainable viticultural practices.
