This tawny port wine is a tribute to the patience of the cellar master, crafted for those who appreciate the evolution of a Port as it moves from the vibrant fruit of youth into the sophisticated, nutty depths of maturity. Selected from premium parcels in the Douro Valley, this Reserve Tawny has matured for years in seasoned oak casks, developing a silky texture and a rich tapestry of flavors that linger long after the final sip.

This Special Reserve is defined by its maturity and elegance, showing a beautiful amber-tawny hue in the glass. The nose is a complex invitation of dried fruits—think figs, raisins, and dates—seamlessly blended with notes of toasted almonds, butterscotch, and a delicate hint of warm spice. On the palate, the wine is remarkably smooth and medium-bodied. It strikes a masterclass balance between its mellowed sweetness and a gentle acidity, offering layers of caramel, orange peel, and roasted nuts that unfold gracefully. The finish is long, warming, and exceptionally clean, leaving a refined trail of dried fruit and oak.

A Special Reserve Tawny is a versatile staple for any wine lover’s collection, offering a more complex experience than a standard Tawny while remaining remarkably approachable. It is a superb partner for desserts that echo its nutty profile, such as almond tart, crème brûlée, or an apple crumble with cinnamon. For those who prefer a savory contrast, try it chilled alongside blue cheese or a plate of walnuts and dried apricots. Unlike Vintage Ports, this Special Reserve is fully matured and ready to be enjoyed immediately upon opening, and it will stay fresh in the bottle for several weeks if kept in a cool place.

Sourced from the steep, terraced vineyards of the Cima Corgo, this Port is aged in traditional oak vats and pipes. The aging process is carefully monitored to ensure the perfect transition of color and flavor. To fully appreciate its intricate aromatics, we recommend serving it slightly chilled, between 12–14°C, in a glass that allows the bouquet to breathe.

The Quevedo Special Reserve Tawny is a celebration of the Douro’s slow-aging tradition. It is a wine that invites you to slow down, savor the moment, and enjoy the rich, oxidized beauty that only years of careful cellaring can produce.

Quevedo

The feeling of optimism and the word of passion are carved into the Quevedo family, who have been grape growers and port producers for 5 generations. Despite trying times, Oscar Sr. found the brand Quevedo in 1993, which started a new era for the family, since they could bottle port under their own label. While this was great news for the family, as the upcoming generation, Claudia and Oscar Jr. had very different career paths in mind. Claudia fell in love with wine since her youth and she wanted to be a winemaker, even though her parents were skeptical about it. After completing her studies at Vila Real she joined Oscar Sr. in 1999 as a winemaker and ensured that the business had a future in the family.
