For a significant period, the grapes from the estate were vinified at the neighboring Quinta dos Roques under a cooperative agreement that began in 1992. Quinta dos Roques was one of the pioneering estates in the Dão to focus on producing high-quality varietal wines. This philosophy has influenced the approach at Quinta das Maias. The estate transitioned to certified organic viticulture in 2007, underscoring a commitment to environmental stewardship.
