A refreshing expression of the Douro Valley's white grape varieties, crafted with a focus on traditional and responsible winemaking. The viticulture for this wine relies on a blend of native white grapes, including Malvasia Fina, Códega, and Rabigato, which are grown on the region's signature schist soils. The producer's overall philosophy centers on sustainable viticulture, utilizing traditional methods that respect the land and its unique ecosystem. The winemaking process is tailored to achieve a drier style. The white grapes undergo a longer fermentation period than is typical for Port before they are fortified with grape spirit, allowing more of the natural sugar to be converted into alcohol. The wine is then aged for at least three years in a combination of stainless steel vats and old oak casks. This aging regimen contributes to its textural complexity while preserving its crisp and fresh character. Tasting notes for the wine describe a pale gold color with an aroma of dried fruit, nuts, and a touch of honey and citrus peel. The palate is elegant and dry, with a crisp acidity balanced by a savory, nutty complexity. The finish is clean, refreshing, and long.

Quevedo

The feeling of optimism and the word of passion are carved into the Quevedo family, who have been grape growers and port producers for 5 generations. Despite trying times, Oscar Sr. found the brand Quevedo in 1993, which started a new era for the family, since they could bottle port under their own label. While this was great news for the family, as the upcoming generation, Claudia and Oscar Jr. had very different career paths in mind. Claudia fell in love with wine since her youth and she wanted to be a winemaker, even though her parents were skeptical about it. After completing her studies at Vila Real she joined Oscar Sr. in 1999 as a winemaker and ensured that the business had a future in the family.
