The grapes for Saravá's Rosé are meticulously cultivated in a friend's vineyard near Ponte de Lima, about 20 kilometers from the Atlantic Ocean. This location, coupled with the region's distinctive granite-rich soil, is crucial in imparting Vinho Verde's vibrant acidity and crispness. Their Rosé primarily features the aromatic Loureiro grape, thoughtfully enhanced with Vinhão for color and added depth. Saravá is strongly dedicated to organic and regenerative farming, minimizing chemical use to protect the environment and encourage biodiversity within their vineyard ecosystems, ensuring a harmonious relationship with nature.

Saravá's winemaking philosophy for this particular Rosé is notably unconventional and spontaneous, fitting for a wine produced in a limited volume of only 1200 bottles. The process involves partial destemming and direct pressing of the Loureiro grapes. Uniquely, the must ferments in stainless steel tanks, where whole red grapes are introduced to enrich color and structure. Following this, the wine undergoes an extended three-month maceration period before being pressed and bottled young, a method that captures vibrant fruit character and contributes significantly to its body and length, distinguishing it from many lighter Vinho Verde rosés.

On the palate, Saravá's Vinho Rosé 2023 is a medium-bodied, dry wine that offers a crisp and refreshing experience. Its aromatic profile is rich with tart raspberry, overripe watermelon, and ripe strawberry, layered with nuanced notes of baked cherry, delicate pie crust, fresh herbs, and a subtle whisper of white pepper. The wine boasts a medium-plus acidity, providing a lively backbone, and concludes with soft, dry tannins that contribute to its elegant structure and lingering finish. This intricate balance of fruit, savory elements, and texture positions Saravá's Rosé as a sophisticated and versatile expression of Vinho Verde.
