This intriguing white wine is a field blend showcasing a dynamic mix of Viosinho, Rabigato, Gouveio, and Esgana Cão grapes from 15-20 year old vines. Hand-harvested in small boxes, the grapes undergo a unique fermentation process. Indigenous yeasts work their magic in clay amphorae alongside the skins for six days, extracting depth and texture. Following fermentation, the wine spends six months aging in used French oak barrels on its lees, further adding complexity. The result? A captivatingly complex wine bursting with aromas of stone fruit and floral notes, complemented by a mineral backbone and a harmonious integration of clay and oak. Balanced and fresh, it boasts a lengthy finish, ensuring a lasting impression.

Quinta de Tourais

Fernando Coelho is the face of Quinta de Tourais, a family-owned estate that has been in the family for four generations. The estate itself has a history dating back to the time of the Cistercian order, spanning all the way back to the 17th century. Fernando was previously a restaurant owner, but he decided to shift his focus and began making his first wines back in '99. However, his winemaking style has evolved over time. As his experience grew, so did his concerns, leading him to become a minimal-intervention producer.
