A white field blend crafted from a unique and ancient vineyard situated on the outskirts of the Reguengo village, within the Serra de S. Mamede, a remarkable mountain range exceeding 1000 meters in altitude. This vineyard, facing eastward at an elevation of 598 meters, boasts a diverse array of approximately 14 different grape varieties resulting from a mass selection carried out until the early twentieth century. These ancient vines, cultivated on granitic (Ordovician) soils, yield exceptionally low crops, concentrating the flavors and complexity within the grapes.

Meticulous hand-harvesting ensures the grapes reach the winery at peak ripeness. Following harvest, the grapes were gently pressed, and the must underwent a period of static decanting. Fermentation proceeded naturally with indigenous yeasts, allowing the wine to express its true terroir. The wine then underwent a 15-month aging period in used oak barrels, imparting subtle spice and oak nuances while preserving the vibrant fruit character. Malolactic fermentation occurred during this period, softening the wine's acidity and enhancing its textural complexity.

On the palate, Equinócio Branco unfolds with a captivating golden hue and a complex interplay of aromas. Expect a delicate bouquet of citrus fruits, such as lemon and grapefruit, intertwined with subtle notes of white flowers, minerality, and a touch of spice derived from the oak aging. The palate is a harmonious blend of flavors, showcasing a refreshing acidity that balances the fruit sweetness while a subtle savory undercurrent adds complexity. The finish is persistent, leaving a lingering impression of citrus fruit and a hint of minerality.

This wine is a testament to Cabeças do Reguengo's dedication to minimal intervention and sustainable viticulture. The result is a wine that is both elegant and expressive, a true reflection of the unique terroir of the Serra de S. Mamede. Equinócio Branco is a perfect pairing with a variety of dishes, from grilled seafood to delicate vegetarian creations.
